SAVE-THE-DATES: CSO Forum at LDC5, 22-27 January 2022, Doha, Qatar

The Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) will take place in Doha, Qatar, from 23 to 27 January 2022, at the level of Heads of State and Government. It will launch the next 10-year Programme of Action with commitments from all governments to address the challenges of sustainable development, in particular those faced by the 46 UN-defined Least Developed Countries.

A parallel Civil Society Forum will be held on the same premises of the Conference, from 22 to 27 January 2022. It is being prepared by a Core Group of civil society organizations – Social Watch, Third World Network, Global Policy Forum, and LDC Watch – in cooperation with the UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS).

The programme of the Civil Society Forum is being designed and will address a full range of issues from vaccine inequality, to the climate change crisis and the debt trap and trade rules that are deepening inequalities and insecurities.
